Our Story

A cafe in the middle of a garden.

The Garden Cafe opened in 2024 on the grounds of Pinelands Nursery, a family-run nursery in Milton, Florida. What started as a shady spot to rest between rows of plants has grown into a small counter serving coffee, gelato, tea and pastries.

We keep the menu short and seasonal. Espresso is pulled to order, matcha is whisked, gelato is made in small batches, and every drink is designed to be carried out into the garden.

Come slow down for an hour. Bring a book, bring the dog, bring a friend. Then take a plant home with you.

The people behind the counter

JM

Jordan Miller

Owner & Founder

Jordan opened The Garden Cafe with a simple idea: great coffee tastes better surrounded by plants. After years of pulling espresso in busy city shops, she wanted to build a slower kind of cafe — one where the drink in your hand is only part of the experience. Now you'll find her behind the bar most mornings, chatting with regulars, testing a new syrup, or rearranging the pastry case for the hundredth time.

The best part of the job? Watching first-time visitors walk in for coffee and leave with a plant, a pastry, and a plan to come back.

TK

Taylor Kim

Head Barista

Taylor runs the bar and keeps our morning rush smooth. They know every regular's order and can dial in a shot faster than anyone.

Fun fact: Can identify a latte art pour from across the room.

AR

Alex Rivera

Pastry Chef

Alex bakes the croissants, muffins, and seasonal tarts you see in the case. Everything is made in small batches each morning.

Fun fact: Listens to true crime podcasts while shaping croissants.

SM

Sam Morgan

Nursery Host

Sam helps guests find seating, answers plant questions, and makes sure the garden seating is clean and shady.

Fun fact: Knows the Latin name of every plant on the porch.

DP

Dana Patel

Gelato Maker

Dana churns the gelato in tiny rotating flavors. If you see a special flavor on the board, it was probably their experiment.

Fun fact: Once made a basil-gelato cake for a staff birthday.
